Lollipop+Onigiri

I made a cute lollipop on paint and I want to show this off to Wang Ting. I was actually inspired by that tiny lollipop on her blog which is kinda like her profile pic. Sure it's not the cutest looking lollipop but I'll practice hard to create that lollipop that'll make you say OMG THAT LOOKS SO YUMMY!. Lol. Speaking of lollipops, the wound I got from getting my tooth pulled is 90% healed now. I'm happy yet sad coz once it heals 100% have to get another tooth pulled.

I'd also like to share with you an onigiri drawing that Shalla made for me. I saw her onigiri drawing one time and I found it so cute that I asked her to draw me an onigiri princess LMAO. Thanks so much dear Shalla.

Still Alive

Pizza Plus Earth Hour

Yesterday, I satisfied my pizza craving. I would like to thank my beloved fiancé for the Greenwich Hungarian Sausage Overload Pizza. The picture sucks but oh well.

I'm sure you all know about the Earth Hour. It started in 2007 and it's been held on the last day of March annually. I'm an environmentalist and been taking part in the event except...last night. I just couldn't turn the comp off because of the work I had to do for my job. You know, no work no earnings. Anyway, once I get the chance, I'll be posting ways to help take action on climate change.

Though we weren't able to turn the lights and other appliances off, my dada and I purchased shirts from 350.org, a global environmental organization (though the 350.org in our local area is the one marketing them). The org got its name from the safest upper limit of carbon dioxide--350ppm--which is measured in "parts per million". Unfortunately, the average concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is 389.78ppm. It is right to say that this is actually slowly killing the living things on Earth.

Here's a picture of the shirt and by the way, I'm wearing my fiancé's shirt. My shirt is a lot smaller of course. His shirt looks small yeah but that's because he likes his shirts like that.

Pizza Oh La La~

I'm craving pizza! Yummmmmmy. Pizza is just one of my favorite foods. I'm so happy that I'll be eating pizza with my fiancé on the weekend. Anyway, I'm done with my assignment of 15 wheels and tires articles. I'll be submitting them later. I'm on a short break again so I'll be able to do my blogvisit today.

I've just finished doing my current assignment. It feels good to finally get some break after long hours of work. I think my boss really likes my articles on WHEELS and TIRES even though I have a love-hate relationship with them lol. But I can't be picky. I need to accept all the assignments she gives me or I won't be earning anything. Anyway, I'm going to watch Dumb and Dumber with my lovey today. It stars Jim Carey. It's a very old movie and perhaps you've heard or seen it already.

I wanted to make this blog an informative one, but my job keeps me from doing it. I'm just too busy to do some research for my blog posts. Maybe I'll post something useful once I get a week long break.

Earthquake and Tsunami Scared Me

I'm sure you've seen it in the news today. An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9 struck Japan and was followed by a tsunami right after. I do not have any family members nor friends that live in Japan. But I personally love Japan and her people. I feel sorry for everyone that has been affected, including those that were killed, are still missing, lost the ones they love, and lost their homes and properties. Also, I am worried about the peoples that live in the certain parts of the world which will be/are already affected by the tsunami as well. I live in the central part of the Philippines so I do not have to worry about the tsunami hitting our island. But my fiancé lives in Hawaii and it is going to be hit by a tsunami in an hour or so. Even though he doesn't live near the water, I am still very much worried about his and his family's safety. I extend my prayers to the earthquake and tsunami victims and I also pray that nobody will have to suffer again even though I know it's far from happening.

I hope that through this calamity, people will be more aware of the harmful things they do to our environment. I do not think that nature is punishing us. The earth is only trying to repair itself so that it will live for many more years for the next generations. But it also makes me wonder...is nature trying to tell us something important by choosing Japan among all the places here in the world? Japan is one of the greatest distributors of waste--land, air, and water pollution.

We can make a change. We can start NOW. Let us help save mother nature before its too late.

Getting my very first paycheck on Thursday~

YAY!!! Finally!! I get my paycheck on Thursday! It's not as big as what I had expected but since it's my first time getting a paycheck, I'm so happy and excited. I can now say, IT'S MY HARD EARNED MONEY BITCCCCCCCCH lol I'm kidding. I got some good news too. I got my Smart Wi-Max last week but I just didn't have the time to blog about it. For now, I'm satisfied with the speed but I wish it would be a little bit faster.

Anyway, I want to give myself a little treat after I get my paycheck. What should I get (aside from food lol)? New shoes? New tops? Or a new bag? I might want to get a massage at a spa. :)

FIRE?!

I can finally rest after four hours of cleaning up. Today, there was a fire in the neighborhood. Since it was really near the house, we had to pack up all our clothes. We wanted to take everything we could with us because we didn't want to regret not taking as much stuff as we could like during that fire incident last year. Nothing was left after the fire so we had to start from scratch and build a new house. We just moved back here last December and the house isn't even finished yet. So we were all scared and worried and nervous during the fire earlier. The fire only burned down a house and a small commercial building. It was a good thing that nobody was harmed.

Anyway, after we were sure that the fire was finally put out, we just threw all our stuff in the living room. So after a few moments of resting we had to organize everything back to the way it was. And now I'm so exhausted.

Today's a very special day and I'm not letting that incident ruin it for me. This is it for now and I'm gonna start my evening blog visit in a few mins. :)

I want a break.

I was sick the whole day yesterday. My headache was so bad that my eyes went teary and I couldn't focus on anything. Mom said it's overfatigue. And I think she's right. I've been working all day everyday, doing researches and writing articles. Writing is fun, but when you have deadlines to meet, it's more frustrating and tiring than fun. I have four articles to submit by midnight and I'll start writing them soon. For now, I'm going to do my blog visit and read my friends' posts.

There is no cure for common cold.

Yes, that’s right. I catch a cold a few times each year. And it takes a couple or more weeks for it to go away. I caught a cold over a week ago and it’s pestering me non stop. “Take meds,” is what you will say. Well yeah, I’ve been taking my med but it isn’t supposed to cure the illness. It can only help to ease the symptoms. The only way to shorten the length of a cold is to drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. So if I were you, I’d be extra careful (look, it’s coming from someone who catches a cold three to four times a year). I’m sure you already know how a person contracts the common cold and what the symptoms are. But do you know how to prevent this? Here are some tips below to help you prevent catching the common cold.

1. Wash your hands before preparing food and eating, after wiping your nose, and after toileting.
2. Clean your surroundings. Disinfect commonly touched surfaces like sink handles, door knobs, cellphone, music player, keyboard, etc.
3. Use hand sanitizers, especially after touching something that is dirty—coins, bills, and other things that are being touched by other people.
4. Drink plenty of water. This is to wash out all the dirt from inside your body.
5. Have a healthy diet and get enough sleep.
6. Take Vitamin C supplements.

Bad Timing

Just a week after I started blogging again, I got my first writing job. It's tough trying to get my work done in time while still managing my blog. But I can't leave either of the two. I need to make money--I do not like depending on other people, not even on my own parents, for money. And I love blogging! There's so many things I want to blog about. I just can't find time to write them yet. I want to write about things that are very informative that would help people out and give them awareness. I'm also quite worried about my studies. I was supposed to graduate this year, this March. But because of personal reasons, I won't be able to make it until October next year. I would like to go back to school as soon as this summer. The problem is that, I do not want to trouble my family with the school fees. I'm a pessimist and I admit I give in/give up really easily. But this time, I can't. So help me God.

Anyway, even though I'm extremely busy, I still find time to check my blog a few times a day. I just can't make a post every single day. But don't worry, this blog is active and I regularly visit my blog friends. Not only that, I also read your posts and leave comments to let you know that I'm still here and I'm interested in you/your blogs/your posts.

Stressful

Stressful - the perfect word to describe the past 2 days. I've been writing articles since two days ago and it's really exhausting. Not to mention it sucks the intelligence out of your brain. I've written 7 articles so far and right now I'm waiting for my next project. Hopefully they won't be as difficult as the last one. Imagine I had to write about TIRES. I was never into cars nor into wheels, and most definitely never into tires! But yeah it's work so I had to do it. Since I don't have anything to do right now I'll just go visit my pretty friends' blogs :)

Grease Fire

While I was cooking dinner earlier, something terrible and scary came to my mind. What if a grease fire will happen again?, I thought. But I was cooking chicken tinola and I did not use oil so I felt better in just a matter of seconds.

My first experience with a grease fire was approximately three months ago. Since then, I've been extra careful in the kitchen. Back then I would only fry processed food like hotdogs, corned beef, beef loaf, and the likes. I didn't learn how to cook meals until two months ago. Anyway, that night, I was frying a beef loaf cut into thin slices. But I had diarrhea the whole day and I felt the need to leave the kitchen and go to the toilet. When I got back, I was shocked to see that the frying pan was on fire! I stood there for a few seconds, staring at the fire that seemed to be climbing up to the ceiling. When I snapped out of it, I called for help and my male cousin about 10 years older than me came to the rescue. In just about five minutes, people started coming to the kitchen to see what was going on. My cousin had already taken care of it by then. The first thing he did was cover the pan with a metal lid and turn the heat off. He then carried the pan to the laundry area outside the house. We all waited for 15 mins and he lifted the lid to see if the fire had been put out successfully. I felt really bad about what happened and I swore never to leave the kitchen again when cooking.

So how does a grease fire happen? It happens when the oil or grease on the stove or pan becomes hot enough to burst into flames. Since the grease is liquid, it is easily splashed and once it hits objects like the cabinet or other combustible materials, the house will be easily eaten up by fire.

So if you have not encountered this kind of problem before and you do not know how to deal with it, please read the tips below.

1. Turn off the heat on the stove.
2. Smother the fire with baking soda to put it out. Be sure to put enough baking soda or the fire will not be put out.
3. If you cannot find baking soda in the kitchen, put a metal lid on the pan and be very careful in doing this for this might burn your skin or your clothes. If you still can't find a metal lid, you can use a glass lid. But this may break in a certain period of time due to the intense heat. You may also use a wet towel.
4. Spray the fire with a Class B dry chemical fire extinguisher. Be reminded that this will ruin food and contaminate kitchen dishes and utensils.
5. DO NOT PUT WATER ON THE GREASE FIRE. Doing this will not put out the fire but instead it will cause the burning oil to splash. When you're heating oil and a drop of water falls into it, the oil splashes right? The same thing will happen if you add water on grease fire, well actually, WORSE.
6. If your clothes or hair is caught on fire, roll down the floor to extinguish it. Remember--when there is no oxygen, there is no fire.
7. If you think you cannot handle the problem anymore, call for help! Call the fire department and leave the house with your family and pets.

More important than blogging

While it's true that the more time you spend on your blog, the better, it's also true that there are things that are just a lot more important than what seems to be the most important to you right now. This is just a quick post and I want to tell each and every blogger out there to take a break every once in a while and spend it with your loved one/s. I was so busy with my blog for the past 2-3 days that I almost forgot how hot my hubby is. I've been staring at him for the past three hours and damn is he gorgeous! I was in an awfully bad mood the whole day so I can't believe I'm having such a peaceful and joyful moment with him right now. Anyway, I'll respond to comments, tags, and relink blogs tomorrow morning. I need to spend some more quality time with him <3

Stupid Comp

Today, my computer has crashed four times already. And it's not even 10am yet. It crashes when I have a couple or more blogs opened on my browser. This is probably the worst welcome back gift I've received since my first post. This blog is just starting and my computer encountering problems like this definitely puts me in a bad mood. I just hope it fixes itself real soon for I need to visit at least 20 blogs a day to get my blog some traffic. Right now, I'm still looking for bloggers that are interested in link-exchange.

While I was blogwalking yesterday, I saw a bunch of blogs with cute, pretty, and girly layouts. I hate to admit this but I was a little jealous. Why am I not blessed with the talent to make really cute layouts like those? Maybe I just need to learn more about codes. But I'm a lazyass bitch so that probably won't happen (lol).

Yes, I'm blogging again. It actually took me a while to finish creating my layout and mess with the codes. I probably spent half of the time trying to remember the right codes I had to use. While I was busy doing stuff on my blog last night, I ran out of browsing mb's. Confused? Let me tell you what it's all about through a product review.

I availed of the Prepaid Plan and I've been using my Tattoo USB since January 6th, 2011. Since 15 minutes of browsing costs Php5, I've been registering to SUPERSURF50, which is a one day unlimited internet browsing service for Php50. The maximum speed is from 1.2 - 2 Mbps so it's pretty fast. BUT this product is suited for moderate use only, subject to Globe Fair Use Policy. Which means that when your data subscription has reached 800mb, you will not be able to surf anymore and will have to wait until 12:00am of the next day. So every month I spend Php1500 on my connection only to be frustrated about the mb limit later in the day. The good thing is that, when I run out of mb's, Skype calls/video calls become clearer and do not drop anymore. The quality of the call and the cam is so perfect that you'll wish it was this way all the time. And another thing, there are times when the registration to the unlimited surfing is delayed by a few minutes or even an hour. It's a little irritating and I really need to be patient about it.

So why did I avail of this product anyway? I have a 2 year contract with Smart for availing of their Smart Wi-Max product. But because I lost the product in a fire, it had to be replaced. I applied for the replacement in November last year and they have not given me a new Wi-Max yet. Incompetent much? Since I cannot terminate the contract (or I'll be paying a huge amount of money), I'll have to wait for the Wi-Max and settle with the Tattoo USB in the meantime.
